World 2 is the second of seven worlds in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

World 2 has 18 stars, only 12 of which are obtainable the first time through, mostly because comets will not spawn until World 3.

The only required star in this world is Bowser's Lava Lair 1. Note that Puzzle Plank 1 is not required because Puzzle Plank Secret is available.
